USDA Soils maps indicate that the farmstead is mapped Buckland loam, 3 to 15 percent slopes. Woodland west of the farmland is mapped Buckland loam, 8 to 25 percent slopes, very stony. Wetter lowland in the northern portion of the farm is mapped. Cabot silt loam, 0 to 8 percent slopes. Relative Ag Value is estimated at 75%, with 100% being the best prime land and 0 being unsuited for agriculture.
