We are homesteading on seventy acres, which is a bit much for two ppl! We are interested in a lease or partnership arrangement; we are not selling land. Priority goes to those interested in animal husbandry / raising beef.

This landowner is a

Farmer or farm family

Quality of land

Former 100 year old organic dairy farm. Cabot silty loam. Pastures slowly turning into meadow having not been grazed, we have some goats and think the best option to re establish pastures would be a combo of our goats with some cows; this is our main goal but we are also open to someone using this epic soil for an acre market garden in the back 30. We have tilled and grown there before and it was amazing. We keep our homestead gardens closer to the house which feed our guests, ourselves, and stocks our farmstore.

We also have a high tunnel we can share for tomatoes or cukes or whatever is clever!

Description of farm infrastructure

Large barn and hayloft; established goat pen. Room for cows though they don’t need it in our experience. Shelter build possible for cattle. Barn is up for a historic barn grant and is in great shape. We are finalizing our fences this summer and next spring.

Tenure arrangement details

We’d love to host a combo of our own cattle and someone else’s, or just someone else’s. We think 10 would be ideal for our acreage and experience. We have jobs and other commitments and are slowly moving towards homesteading and building a hospitality business here full time, so our desired tenant is passionate, engaged, and has experience; we are looking for someone who is self reliant.
