Beautiful land in Chelsea, VT with spectacular views and lots of potential! Historically used for horses and hay fields. There is a mature maple stand that can be tapped as well. Lots of opportunity for the right person!

Quality of land

We hayed this farm for a few years and got excellent quality hay. It has been dormant for 2 summers. We were certified organic until this year when we did not renew the certification. The primary soil types present within the parcel include Cabot, Colrain,
Buckland and Pomfret as mapped by the USDA Soil Conservation Service, “Soil
Survey, Orange County, VT.”

The forest land here is very accessible and operable for future forest
management activities. Topography and soil stability suggest that winter or the
drier portions of the summer season would be appropriate for future timber
harvesting operations. Elevations here range from about 1,280 to 1,650 feet above
sea level.

Description of farm infrastructure

There is a very large barn and 2 quonset huts on the property. The barn is in need of some repair, but would be beautiful once restored! We used it for hay storage on the top level, and the bottom level has paddocks where animals used to be kept.
