I've been operating an organic flower and vegetable farm on 5 acres for the last 22 years and am ready to begin transitioning out/scaling back. I'd love to have it stay in production in some way with new energy and vision. infrastructure is here.

Quality of land
certified organic through VOF and Real Organic. this is a hilly farm and so because of that we have a bunch of small separate fields ranging from .25 acre to 1.5 acres each with slightly different characteristics. Overall soil is sandy and very well draining with, a mixture of Berkshire and Marlow and Amenia Stony loam. We have rocks! Cover cropping for organic matter and weed suppression is our main strategy but we use silage tarps for bed prep and just perfecta for bed prep. We've only experienced drainage issues in really wet years in a couple areas, mostly fields are high and dry. Galinsoga, bind weed and grass are main problem weeds. There is a lot of land that is suitable for pasture.

currently we have a farmhouse on the property that we use as a rental house. it is a 4 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath old farmhouse. we also have two yurts on the property, one we use a short term rental income source and the other smaller yurt we use for crew member housing.

Water source details
Id have to look this info up from many years ago but the drilled well flow is solid and dependable and the pump and storage tank were upsized for 2 inch irrigation pipe. we have two small irrigation ponds and a natural spring that we use to feed the yurt water needs. the farm was a small dairy farm prior to our ownership and solely used the natiural spring / shallow well now feeding the yurts.
Farm infrastructure
Description of farm infrastructure
currently the farm has been used for the past 22 yeears as an organic diversified vegetable and cut flower farm business. there is a large barn with a converted, climate controlled wash pack area and commercial kitchen space that we have used and rented to catering business. There are 2 8x10 coolers using coolbots. There is a farm stand building across the road which we used as a retail outlet for many years and could be revitalized into a retail space again. The farm is on a well travelled road with good retail exposure. There are 4 high tunnels on the farm, 2 of them are 30x 72. and 2 of them are 26x48. There is a covered shed for tool storage and an old chicken coop. 1870s farmhouse, 4br.

Tenure arrangement details
right now we are exploring options. we are not wanting to sell the farm immediately but will likely in the future. we would like the land to stay in agriculture and are hoping to find someone who can love this spot as we have and help to keep it a healthy and thriving part of our community. We would like help with property maintenance, brush hogging/ clearing, etc as part of any arrangement. Topography would welcome animals and/ or orchard crops in addition to the regularly farmed 6 acres we have kept in production.
