Description of farming experience

Harry grew up on a small dairy farm in the Northeast Kingdom. He has experience making hay and caring for cows, horses, chickens and pigs. Some veggie/gardening experience as well. Experience running equipment, logging, and building trades.

Taylor has five years of farming experience, primarily in vegetable operations across various farms. She’s interested in pasture management and is working towards become a certified technical service provider focused on regenerative grazing.

We hope to find a farm in need of some helping hands, in exchange for knowledge sharing and possible housing. Our goal is to learn from others operating an existing farm as to gain experience and clearer define our future goals as farmers. We are interested in work-trade opportunities, as well as pursuing some of our own interests, including maple production, market gardening, and raising livestock (for wool production, meat, soil health). We are looking for opportunities in the Northeast Kingdom - near Westmore ideally.

Farm enterprises description

We are still in the early stages of farm planning. We're seeking hands-on experience and mentorship to help us narrow down our goals for a future farm. Hopefully we can figure out how all our interests can fit together into a cohesive farm plan, but right now it's looking like some form of homestead-market garden setup. Our long-term goal is a regenerative farm with livestock (sheep, chickens), gardens (veggies and dye), a small orchard (fruit, nuts, berries), and a sugarbush. It's important to us that we spend time learning from others so that we can implement these plans in a way that is best for our land, community, and local food system.
