Tenure arrangement desired
Sale
Tenure arrangement description
Access the land affordably through a sale with partnership with land trust to limit development and continue operations independently when possible. Ideally would like to start various aspects of the farm each year and build on the last. Interest in eventually providing educational opportunities once things are up and running.
Planned farm enterprise: Primary
Agroforestry
Planned farm enterprises: Others
Hay, Maple
Farm enterprises description
Ideally using the land and maintaining it would be the goal. Protecting pollinators/building pollinator friendly habitats, maintain a sugaring operation, forestry, hay, and eventually gardens.
Written business plan
In progress
Business planning description
Plan/Mission: Build a regenerative micro-farm that utilizes and respects existing natural resources while creatively working on other uses for the land. Initial goal would be to hire out certain things (hay harvesting, etc) to free up time to work on other endeavors on the farm, land conservation, community outreach, ecological literacy, to keep it operational. Getting the land assessed formally by a state forester would also be in the preliminary stages as well as planning logistics for sugar operation and barn restoration. Plan would implement different phases over several years.
