Farm business ownership

Description of farming experience

I have over 10 years of farming experience from owning and managing an organic coffee farm in the central highlands of Nicaragua. The work on the farm included soil restoration, off-grid water and energy systems, forest stewardship and conservation, utilizing permaculture methods. I learned directly from local and indigenous growers whose plant knowledge profoundly shaped my understanding of healing and cultivation. Alongside farming, we built off-grid cabins, hosted visitors and groups, and created educational experiences. This background informs my practical, regenerative approach to farming here in Vermont where prior to living in Central America, I lived many years.

Tenure arrangement desired

Lease

Tenure arrangement description

My goal is to secure 1-2 acres through a long-term lease/arrangement with a gradual buy-in. I am seeking a stable tenure arrangement that allows me to establish perennial medicinal herb beds, small scale organic vegetable production and a community education program in a 5-10 year plan.

My preferred arrangement is a multi-year land lease that can transition to ownership once a good working relationship is established. I am also open to a flexible arrangement that meets the owners needs while being a reliable, respectful steward who enhances the ecological health and value of the property .

Farm enterprises description

Botanika Farm is a regenerative land-based project whose vision is to establish a living model of ecological healing and community education - a landscape where herbal medicine, sustainable food production, and regenerative design come together.

The project's goals include cultivating medicinal and culinary herbs, small scale organic vegetables, and offering hands-on learning experiences that reconnect people to the land.

My intention is to create more than a farm - Botanika would serve as a living demonstration of a productive and inspiring environment where we show what is possible when we work in harmony with natural systems - cultivating abundance while improving the soil health, biodiversity, and long term resilience of the land. My goal is to live modestly from what the land can provide, while also creating a welcoming place where others can visit, learn, volunteer, and reconnect with nature.
