Hi, my name is Bear and I am looking to move to Southern Vermont and build a Permaculture school and holistic life center on tillable acreage to include a maple syrup operation.

Description of farming experience

I worked on a workshare at my local CSA for eight years doing a large variety of farming task to include everything from planting seedlings to harvesting crops in the field and late season work early season work. Over the same period of time I began homesteading at my property in Granby, Connecticut, where I did all kinds of activities to include raising honeybees, maple syrup, production, medicine, production, edible, and medicinal herb, growing a robust composting operation and much more.

I have personal financial resources that I intend to invest in the acquisition of land in southern Vermont with the intention of putting that land into a trust to ensure that the land will forever grow food and medicine for people, and be a place of education and healing.

The plan will be to put acquired land into a trust, and that trust will be administered by the nonprofit that I will start to oversee both the land and the organization that controls the land. We would be open to developing a partnership with other like minded individuals or organizations.

I am open to the idea of starting with undeveloped land and I’m also comfortable with a property that has some infrastructure built on it, but neither are necessary.

My goal is to build a property that can serve a two fold purpose: 1- to develop a working Permaculture Farm that will serve as a laboratory and school to teach people the principles of Permaculture. 2 - to provide a space where people can have inexpensive or free access to holistic healthcare in all of its forms.
