Additional Information

Strawberry Hill Farm is a 189 acre property located in the heart of Stowe. The property is currently being managed as an event space and high end home rental. A 6 bedroom farmhouse and a 1 bedroom cottage comprise the rental portion of the property. There is approximately 50 acres of hay land that is being managed and cultivated by another Stowe farmer. The property also has over 100 acres of forest land that is actively managed for both timber and recreation.

We are seeking a farmer to cultivate a small vegetable, herb, and/or flower plot on an available piece of land on the property. We are willing to lease the land for free and would be open to a multi-year arrangement. Given that the property is used for events and rentals, it is imperative that the farm be kept neat and tidy and that the farmer is open to interacting with other users of the land. The grower would be responsible for marketing and selling the majority of the produce, but we would seek to partner with the grower and purchase some of the produce for events and rentals at the property. All proceeds from the farm operation would be the grower's.

The barn on the property currently houses two horses. At this point, we are not seeking to add any additional animals. There is approximately 50 acres of hayland on the farm that is currently being managed by another Stowe farmer. The grower would be expected to interact with these other users in a friendly and cooperative manner.

We also own and operate Sage Farm Goat Dairy, another farm property in Stowe. We are very busy with that endeavor, and as such, we do not have the time to start up another small farm enterprise at Strawberry Hill. We would very much like to see more of the land at Strawberry Hill in production, and this is the key reason we are seeking to partner with a new farmer. We do have a lot of farming know-how and local connections and would be happy to share knowledge about marketing opportunties and other farming resources in our area.
