My wife and I are both chefs and we are building a small commercial kitchen in our barn and will be opening Red Barn Kitchen this summer. We will be offering pick up at our ‘to go window’ on Saturdays as well as the occasional cooking class and on-premise event once COVID gets under control. Ideally by next season we are doing some off-premise catering as well.
We have some awesome silent partners in the housewares/ kitchen ware industries on the barn project who have contracts with us for marketing work / social media and cooking videos out of the barn as well. Finally, the barn will serve as the opportunity for research and development for my full time job, as the Vice President of Culinary for Healthy Living Market.
The lease arrangement I am envisioning is one that will allow a farmer partner to run their own business off our property but also provide Red Barn Kitchen with some ‘specialty’ produce when available to help supplement our menus and events so we can showcase products grown on our property by our farmer friends. No payment required for lease- just product in exchange. TBD on volume. We are flexible. You are welcome to run your own CSA off the property as well.
We would love to find someone interested in helping share the land as we just want to put it to good use! All we need is someone responsible and respectful- as we would deliver the same.
There is marketing support available if interested- we have a pretty vast network in the culinary world and would be happy to help promote, do social media for, or even more integrated marketing campaigns to draw attention to our farmer friend, if they desired. No obligation but I see it as part of the opportunity if someone is interested in that.
