Additional Information

Farmhouse and adjacent acreage are for rent as one package.  Currently only considering tenants who would rent the land, barn and house at the same time.  We also have extensive forest acreage under Current Use management plan and would be willing to consider woodlands as part of the lease if it fit with the plan.  We are amenable to land use plans that make appropriate use of the natural resources here.  This is a beautiful farm with elevated mountain and valley views.  Historically used for livestock production of all types, and infrastructure is in place and available as part of the lease.   Equipment is available and could be part of the lease depending on the farmer-tenant's needs.  Some acreage would be tillable for vegetable, gardening or small row crop enterprises.  The property is in close proximity to the village of Bakersfield and East Fairfield, and 45 minute drive to Burlington and 15 minutes to St Albans.    Contact Vermont Land Link manager, Ben Waterman at (802) 656-9142 or ben.waterman@uvm.edu for more information or to schedule a site visit.  Farmhouse, barns, fields and equipment will be available in May 2016, but we encourage farmers to consider this now in order to plan ahead.
