Please describe your past and/or present farming experience
I founded and operated a small CSA called Two Black Sheep CSA in South Hero from 2011-2015. We grew the business very quickly to 22 members, the maximum our small 1/2 acre vegetable plot was able to easily support. I transitioned the operations on to my business partner in 2016 to allow the time and focus to find a larger, more long-term land opportunity. While undergoing my land search, I am currently apprenticing at the Knoll Farm in Fayston - where last season I raised a small broiler flock, planted a raspberry orchard, and assisted with shepherding.

We believe it is dangerous to force one's own preconceived plan onto an unknown piece of land. We remain open-minded to specific business streams a given land opportunity is suited to. To that end, and to help paint a better picture of our vision, goals, and business plan, I have included three pertinent document attachments below. /// They are: 1. Our values-based goal, mission, vision statement. /// 2. Our proposal to the Vermont Land Trust's Tenney Farm (Fayston, VT) RFP. We were engaged in discussions as one of two finalist potential groups being offered the property, and ultimately the VLT engaged the other group in the sale of this property. This is an ambitious plan we designed for a specific piece of land in Vermont in 2014. /// 3. A PDF combining past Two Black Sheep marketing material examples. The CSA I owned and operated from 2011-2015.
